VALIDATE: Announcing VALIDATE EU 2023, and a Look Back at the Highlights and Insights of VALIDATE 2022
The first-ever VALIDATE conference has now been and gone, but we’re excited to announce VALIDATE EU 2023 is coming, April 18-19, 2023!
VALIDATE EU brings the validation conference experience of VALIDATE, to Europe. Launching for the first time this year, VALIDATE EU 2023 will gather validation and quality professionals from around Europe to discover and apply validation technologies, regulations, and best practices.
As VALIDATE EU launches, we’re taking a look back at what made VALIDATE 2022 such a success. On November 16–17, 2022, Kneat and its sponsors brought over 150 validation, quality, and regulatory professionals together to share knowledge, learn best practices, and get rare expert insights into validation trends and challenges.
We had 16 expert-led sessions, delicious food and fun networking events, and insightful panels with key leaders from across the industry. A huge thank you to all who traveled to Boston to attend and participate in VALIDATE 2022!
The conference was a success and well organized. I can’t say enough great things about the venue, people, and organization.
– Angela Acito, Supervisor Equipment and Facility Qualification, Apotex Inc.
It went so well, in fact, that we think it’s worth revisiting. Read on for a high-level recap of our 2022 conference.
Eddie Ryan’s Opening Remarks
The conference, and Kneat’s strong growth these past years, wouldn’t have been possible without the collaboration of our customers, partners, and others. To launch VALIDATE 2022, Kneat CEO and Co-founder Eddie Ryan reflected on the incredible support Kneat has received from the industry, and looked ahead to how Kneat and validation, quality, and compliance professionals are changing the landscape of validation as we know it—together.
Inspiring Keynote Speaker
Our distinguished keynote speaker, Joel Selanikio, MD, encapsulated the theme of VALIDATE, “Data Driven Quality”, with his unique perspective on the importance on digital innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
He is a recognized innovator in global health, technology, and social enterprise, and a founding member of the World Health Organization’s Digital Health Expert Roster. His broad career has allowed him to observe and leverage the great technological changes of our time—including the shift from personal computers to mobile, the adoption of cloud technologies, and the growing application of big data and artificial intelligence to healthcare—as few others have done.
It was very interesting (for) how we leverage technologies like Kneat to be ahead of the game and be able to determine the course, rather than just follow the course.
– Russell Irvin, Senior Automation Engineer, Global Life Sciences Company.
Masterclass Sessions From Validation and Technology Experts
VALIDATE was more than inspiring speeches. There were 16 sessions including panel discussions and hands-on workshops. Each one was tailored to unique validation and technology needs, centered around VALIDATE 2022’s theme of “Data Driven Quality”. Sessions included:
An Expert Panel With Top Pharma Companies Eli Lilly, Merck & Co, Pfizer, and Sanofi
In this discussion, attendees discovered how engineering and quality can better partner across the C&Q and validation lifecycles to better deliver validation services in a way that drives efficiency and overall business performance. It was a true showcase of proven collaborative approaches to what can sometimes be perceived as ‘competing interests’ between engineering and quality assurance within life sciences organizations and armed those in attendance with new knowledge and tools to align the functions more closely.
Achieving Data Driven Quality Improvement in Manufacturing
In this robust panel discussion moderated by Rick Mineo, Director of Strategic Partners at Kneat, Bharvish Malkani, Project Manager at Barry-Wehmiller Design Group and Alex Lopez, Senior Manager Quality Engineering at Biogen walked validation professionals through strategies they could use to achieve data driven quality improvements in manufacturing covering the necessary hardware, software, metrics, governance and organizational culture.
Driving Cost Reduction for C&Q Capital Projects with Digital Validation
Expanding on similar insights shared in the previous session, attendees learned how to use Kneat Gx features to use reporting data from Kneat Gx to drive down the cost of C&Q capital projects from Sanofi’s Commissioning and Qualification Lead, Patrick Mullin.
This was probably the best user group meeting I have attended by any vendor.
– Russell Regan, Senior Project Manager, Affiliated Engineers, Inc.
